Career Opportunity: Concrete Forming Carpenter Kimola Construction is a premier contracting company specializing in high-end forming and framing across the Lower Mainland. We are currently seeking two (2) Concrete Forming Carpenters who take pride in "visible" concrete—where structural integrity meets architectural design. If you have a sharp eye for detail and experience in high-rise residential projects where the concrete remains an exposed design element, we want to hear from you. Compensation & Benefits - Wage: $35.00 – $40.00 per hour (based on experience). - Hours: 40 hours/week + Overtime (paid per BC Labour Laws). - Extended Benefits: Comprehensive Health, Medical, Vision, Dental, and Insurance (available after 3 months). Your role involves creating the molds for high-end residential and commercial buildings where the concrete is the final face of the building. - Forming Systems: Expert use of Easy Strip and Snap Tie forming systems. - Precision Layouts: Prepare layouts in strict conformance to building codes and architectural sketches. - Blueprint Literacy: Read and interpret complex drawings to calculate precise material requirements. - Material Versatility: Measure, cut, and join wood, wood substitutes, and lightweight steel. - Structural Elements: Build footings, foundations, frost walls, drops, and erect trusses according to layout. - Pumping Integration (Asset): Familiarity with Concrete Pumping operations. Assisting in the coordination of machinery and labor to move liquid concrete to specific, often difficult, locations on-site is a key asset to our workflow. Job Requirements - Experience: 1 to 2 years in concrete forming (High-rise residential experience preferred). - Education: Secondary school graduation or equivalent experience. - Language: Proficient English. - Tools & Gear: Must have own tools and steel-toed safety boots/gloves. - Mobility: Valid Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle (Willingness to travel within Greater Vancouver). - Physicality: Ability to handle a fast-paced, physically demanding outdoor environment (heavy loads, bending, kneeling, and working at heights). - Reliability: Must be bondable and pass a drug test.
