About the Role: Discovery Community College is seeking a dedicated and experienced HCA Instructor to teach in-person Online Theory . This position offers an opportunity to mentor and shape the next generation of nursing professionals through engaging and comprehensive instruction. This part time role The schedule for this line is Tuesday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. It is a blended delivery format, with classroom theory taught in person on Mondays at the campus, and online from Tuesday to Friday. Start date: June 23, 2026 Rate Range: $33.00-$35.00/hour Key Responsibilities: - Facilitate student learning in classroom, providing guidance and support throughout. - Ensure compliance with program accreditation standards, regulatory guidelines, and college policies. - Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and evaluations. - Execute lesson plans using preset curriculum that aligns with PTIRU compliance (extensive in-house curriculum orientation and training provided). - Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback. - Maintain a cooperative and supportive learning environment. - Stay current with best practices and developments in nursing education. Qualifications: - Minimum 2,800 hours of nursing experience, inclusive of either maternity or mental health or Acute Care. - Current full registration with the BCCNM as an LPN, RN, or RDPN – required. - Previous instructor experience is an asset. - Experience with Office 365 and Student Information Systems (SIS) is an asset. - Strong communication and mentorship skills. - Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles. - Commitment to fostering a positive educational experience. - Ability to travel to local sites withing region. Required Experience: - In a Long-term Care facility in Canada within the last two years, or relevant experience.
