Description
Join Our Team as a Simulations Analyst at Epiroc! We are looking for a Simulations Analyst to conduct advanced vibration, nonlinear and thermal analyses and support design improvements for battery packs and mechanical systems. Responsibilities - Conduct modal, random vibration, and response spectrum analyses to evaluate system durability and performance towards compliance. - Perform nonlinear structural analyses, including contact, large deformation, and material nonlinearities. - Carry out impact and transient agile simulations for structural integrity and safety evaluation. - Perform FRF/VTF to identify and quantify vibration transmission paths. Isolator evaluation will be critical to most battery packs. - Conduct CHT simulations to evaluate thermal performance and cooling effectiveness. - Analyze flow distribution and airflow performance within battery packs using Ansys Fluent. - Develop 1D system‑level models to support performance prediction and system behavior analysis. - Build, validate, and refine simulation models using test data and engineering judgment. - Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to translate real‑world operating conditions into simulation environments. - Interpret simulation results and provide design recommendations to improve performance, durability, and reliability. - Support troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis for field or test issues using simulation methods. - Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings to engineering teams. Qualifications - Minimum 3–5 years of experience in structural analysis with a focus on vibration (PSD's), non‑linearities and fatigue using Ansys Mechanical products. - 0–2 years of experience in CFD with a focus on CHT/flow distributions using Ansys Fluent. - An undergraduate degree or higher in a relevant field. - Expert knowledge of Ansys products. - Basic understanding of battery systems, GD&T;, drawings and manufacturing processes. - Basic understanding of mechanical testing evaluation (shaker testing, strain gauges, OMS, TPA and FRF's). - Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities. - Team player and problem solver. - Precise technical presentation skills. - Ability to suggest design changes without simulation. - Multi‑tasker. Benefits - Competitive wages and annual employee bonus and incentives as applicable to certain positions. - Family‑friendly benefits package. - Company matching group retirement savings plan. - Paid vacation and sick time. - Fleet vehicles and travel allowances. - Support for relocations. - Employee perks and discounts. - Trades apprenticeships. - Support for growth, training and education. - Progressive flexible work arrangements as applicable to certain positions. - Employee social engagement activities and Company‑sponsored events including fundraising, family, and community involvement. - Sustainable employment and growth.
