IT Specialist (Maple Ridge)

General Requirements of Position · Align with Meridian brand and corporate values · Technology post-secondary training · Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor · Communicates with honesty and clarity, and creates the space for others to do the same · Highly organized and an aptitude for multi-tasking · Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills · Working knowledge of relevant operating systems, software and hardware · Keen attention to detail · Efficient troubleshooting abilities · Computer literate with Microsoft Suite (excel, word, office, etc.) · Ability to work for 8 hours a day at a computer station and extended hours on feet · Experience in food retail and/or food hospitality an asset Main Responsibilities of Position · Model our Meridian Purpose and Values and create the Best Possible Experience for customers and staff. · Contribute to a culture that is warm, accepting, and inclusive, where people feel key and their opinions and contributions matter. · Review diagnostics and assess the functionality and efficiency of systems · Render technical support across the company as required to troubleshoot computer and technology problems · Install, maintain, and update company software and hardware as needed, including: company servers and computers, POS terminals, retail scales, surveillance systems and other equipment. · Provide required integration support with third party software and hardware · Anticipate and report cost of replacing or updating software and hardware · Provide IT training support to staff as required · Routinely communicate with IT Team to share information and discuss activities and challenges · Capable of evaluating, testing and improving cyber security protocols · Monitor security certificates and company compliance of requirements · Conduct other IT tasks and special projects as required to support business Schedule · Saturdays, Sundays, and three weekday afternoons (start around 1:00 finish at 9:30 – with some flexibility with start and end times) · Two weekdays off – these days are flexible Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $50,000.00-$70,000.00 per year Benefits: - Extended health care - Store discount Ability to commute/relocate: - Maple Ridge, BC V2X 6J2: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required) Application question(s): - Do you have ability to work Weekends and afternoon/evenings during the week Experience: - IT: 1 year (preferred) - Cyber Security: 1 year (preferred) Work Location: In person Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2ptcgg
