Description
Be a visionary leader as the Chief Executive Officer of Markham Public Library. Enhance community access to services that promote literacy and lifelong learning throughout the region. As the CEO, you will report to the Library Board and oversee all MPL operations. Your leadership will ensure that services are equitable, cutting-edge, and relevant to the community's needs. The role requires building relationships with various stakeholders to position MPL as a civic hub for engagement and literacy. Key Responsibilities: • Provide strategic direction and leadership for MPL • Foster a culture of employee empowerment and customer service • Strengthen partnerships with municipal and government bodies • Report on Board’s Ends and uphold best practices • Ensure alignment with equity and diversity goals Requirements: • Master’s Degree in Library Science or related field • Ten years of senior-level public library experience • Expertise in collective bargaining and governance • Solid communication and financial management skills • Demonstrated professionalism and agility Utilize your leadership skills to advance the mission and impact of Markham Public Library as its CEO.
