As a clinical nurse, you will utilize your clinical assessment and supportive counseling skills in a progressive interprofessional environment. In addition, you will also provide crisis assessments to the Emergency Department. You are encouraged to participate in various initiatives to continually improve quality of patient care to make the patient's stay a outstanding experience as well as make it a great place to work.What you bring to to the role:Current Certificate of Registration with the College of NursesCurrent BLS certificationMinimum one year recent nursing experience (within the last 5 years) in psychiatrySuccessful completion of, or working towards, the CNA Mental Health Specialty Certification examsBScN preferredPost graduate certificate in psychiatric nursing is preferredRNAO membership is preferredSound knowledge of the Mental Health Act of OntarioExcellent physical assessment skillsProficient computer skillsDemonstrated commitment to a patient/family centred care environmentDemonstrated excellent critical thinking and problem solving skillsDemonstrated ability to work effectively within an interprofessional team as well as independentlyWell developed organization, communication, interpersonal and teaching skillsEvidence of ongoing professional development, continuing education and leadership experienceDemonstrated good attendance and performance record with the ability to maintain this same standardDemonstrated commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with healthcare organization related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as requiredWork Schedule:The successful candidate will work a rotation of 12 hour shifts Days/Nights.Please note schedules may change due to operational needs.Compensation:BAND JRange:$41.18 - $59.03Who we are:Oak Valley Health is one of Ontario’s leading community health care organizations and include Markham Stouffville Hospital, Uxbridge Hospital, and our Reactivation Care Centre.
