Registered Practical Nurse Childbirth Center Markham

Become an essential part of Oak Valley Health as a Registered Practical Nurse in the Childbirth and Children’s Centre. This role focuses on maternal care and involves 12-hour shifts, day and night. The successful candidate will provide patient-centered care for mothers and newborns during antepartum and postpartum periods. Applicants should have excellent communication, critical thinking, and prioritization skills, alongside a solid commitment to health and safety. This full time temporary position will last until approximately September 2024. Key Responsibilities: • Provide care for mothers and newborns in antepartum/postpartum • Promote patient/family-centered decision making • Collaborate effectively within a healthcare team • Maintain compliance with health and safety standards • Deliver education and support to patients and families Requirements: • Current registration with the College of Nurses • Minimum one year maternal child experience • Current neonatal resuscitation certification • BCLS and Fetal Health Surveillance certifications • Completion of breastfeeding course within three months Bring your critical thinking and compassion to make a difference in maternal care.
