Your Opportunity An exciting opportunity exists for intermediate (5u201310 years) Environmental Planners/Project Managers to join Stantecu2019s Assessment and Permitting team within the Environmental Services practice working within London, Waterloo, Markham, Hamilton, or Ottawa offices. You will join a team that delivers expertise to a wide variety of sectors. In this role, you will be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team delivering environmental planning, approvals, and permitting expertise across a diverse range of infrastructure projects. As a key contributor, you will lead or support the dayu2011 tou2011 day delivery of environmental assessment and regulatory approvals, working closely with clients, agencies, and technical specialists. Your Key Responsibilities - Manage project tasks and deliverables and assist with implementing the environmental assessment and permitting process as it applies to projects. - Communicate and liaise with a variety of project stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies, members of the public, and internal multi-disciplinary teams. - Write and coordinate proposals and reports tailored to specific project requirements. - Manage project tasks and deliverables related to environmental components and/or Provincial and Federal Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA). - Conduct desktop studies to support regulatory requirements for various assignments. - Develop and implement consultation programs with a focus on diverse stakeholders. - Communicate and liaise effectively with project stakeholders, including internal teams, clients, regulatory agencies, Indigenous communities, and the public. - Work with a group of professionals across Canada, focusing on environmental assessments, permitting and regulatory compliance. - Manage project tasks and deliverables and assist with implementing the environmental assessment and permitting process as it applies to infrastructure projects. Your Capabilities and Credentials - Robust listening and problem-solving skills - Ability to work seamlessly with multidisciplinary project teams - Capacity to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously - Exceptional attention to detail and communication skills - Proven project management skills, delivering quality results on time and within budget - Self-motivated with excellent technical writing and public speaking skills - Previous experience undertaking environmental assessments, such as the Class EA process Education and Experience A university degree or post-undergraduate college diploma in Environmental Planning, Environmental Studies, or a related field is required. 5-10 years of experience in environmental program and project development, implementation, and management, with a focus on infrastructure projects. Previous experience in undertaking Class EA process, environmental impact assessments, environmental programs, environmental compliance, and/or coordinating the acquisition of permits and approvals. Preferred Qualifications and Assets: - Membership in Ontario Professional Planners Institute, OAIA or ECO Canada EP designation - Consulting experience - Active participation in strategic planning and execution, including pre-positioning for key projects and developing RFP responses - Expertise in community consultations - Project management experience, maintaining billable work and ensuring successful project deliveries Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
