We are committed to delivering reliable, high-quality work with a strong focus on safety and efficiency. Role Description This is a full-time, in office role for a Main Line Excavator Operator. The Excavator Operator is responsible for operating medium- to large-capacity excavators (8–40 tons) to perform a variety of tasks, including site preparation, trenching, grading, and demolition. The ideal candidate has experience in road reconstruction and sewer and water main installations. The applicant also has experience with other heavy equipment, including bulldozers and skid steers, and is capable of contributing to overall site productivity while maintaining high safety standards. Key Responsibilities: - Safely operate 8–40 ton excavators to complete digging, grading, backfilling, trenching, and demolition tasks - Use attachments such as buckets, breakers, and thumbs as required by the job - Operate additional equipment such as bulldozers and skid steers when necessary - Follow project plans, blueprints, and grade stakes to achieve precise results - Perform daily pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on machines - Work closely with site supervisors and crew to complete tasks on schedule - Maintain awareness of site conditions, underground utilities, and surrounding hazards - Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations on-site - Support general labour duties and assist with equipment relocation as needed Qualifications - 3+ years of experience operating excavators and other heavy machinery in construction environments - Must have underground
service experience - Proven ability to operate medium to large excavators (8–40 ton) with precision - Experience with road reconstruction and sewer and water main installation - Strong knowledge of trenching safety, excavation procedures, and machine maintenance - Ability to read site plans and follow grade requirements - Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions - Safety-focused with knowledge of site protocols and best practices - Valid G driver’s license - Relevant safety certifications, such as Working at Heights, WHMIS, and First Aid, are an asset We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
