English Tutor- (Markham)

We are a growing education center dedicated to supporting high school students in achieving academic excellence and university readiness. We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate OSSD English Teacher to join our teaching team. Responsibilities Teach Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) English courses, including Grade 9–12 English Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, assignments, and assessments Support students in improving reading comprehension, essay writing, critical thinking, and communication skills Guide students in literary analysis and academic writing Monitor student progress and provide academic feedback Maintain a professional, engaging, and supportive classroom environment Deliver classes in-person and/or online Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or above in English, Education, Literature, or related field Strong familiarity with Ontario high school English curriculum and OSSD requirements Previous teaching or tutoring experience preferred Excellent English communication and writing skills Passionate about teaching and student development OCT certification is an asset but not required Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching ENG1D, ENG2D, ENG3U, ENG4U, or IELTS/academic writing Familiarity with university application writing and essay coaching Online teaching experience Bilingual in English and Mandarin is an asset Compensation Competitive hourly compensation based on qualifications and teaching experience.
