This position is for qualified applicants who are seeking a mission-driven career in a non-profit organization. Successful candidate will work with a agile and passionate team to further the mission and mandates of ALPHA Education (AE) and the WongAvery Asia Pacific Peace Museum (APPM). Established in 1997, ALPHA Education (AE) is committed to humanity and peace education through remembering and fostering critical inquiry of WWII in Asia. It is a charitable organization and its work is along four intersecting and interconnected strategic directions: engaging students and educators, empowering youth, supporting research, and connecting with communities. In 2024, the WongAvery Asia Pacific Peace Museum (APPM) was opened. It provides a comprehensive history of WWII in Asia, centering historical inquiry and peace education. Office Location : 1775 Lawrence Avenue East, Toronto Salary: Based on qualifications and experience Start date: Negotiable Application Deadline : June 8, 2026 ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Education - Develop, produce, and supervise research for large scale education projects and resource development - Design, develop, and supervise school-based and museum-based learning for secondary, university and college students - Develop, coordinate and facilitate professional development for senior and secondary teachers - Contribute to review for improvements existing AE programs such as History Meets Humanity, History + Art = Peace - Lead in proposal, design, and development of new education programs and events for different target groups - Maintain and build relationships with district school boards and educational institutions to advance partnerships projects - Lead the development of impact study of programs and/or events and undertake analysis of data collected Museum - Initiate, lead and organize museum-based programs and events with schools and other external stakeholders - Review and enhance existing facilities and exhibition in the APPM such as design, production and promotion of travelling exhibits Youth - Supervise and mentor the implementation of youth-led projects and university chapters webinars - Lead and coordinate ALPHA Education summer program for high school, undergraduate and postgraduate students - Supervise and coach youth volunteers in their support of AE+APPM projects, programs or events Other - Propose and lead applications for government and corporate grant funding - Coordinate and support AE+APPM’s community outreach and public-facing events as required - Supervise the maintenance of ALPHA Education website and contribute to AE+APPM newsletter and social media to increase organization brand awareness and engagement QUALIFICATIONS Education & Experience - Degree from an accredited university in humanities, social sciences, or related disciplines; masters degree is an asset - Degree or diploma in education - Minimum 8 years of school-based education experience and /or facilitating learning for diverse populations Skills & Attributes - Expertise in inclusive educational programs - Excellent communication and interpersonal competencies that engage diverse stakeholders and audiences - Experience in utilizing technology, learning management systems (LMS), and digital content creation tools. - Skilful in working at the macro and micro levels and seamlessly across projects and events with different teams - Demonstrated leadership in working with staff and stakeholders to meet strategic goals and priorities - Strong commitment to social justice, historical inquiry, and peace Application Process Interested applicants are invited to submit: - Cover letter - Resume - Two reference letters Applications should be sent to Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2ot6sp
