Retired Server for Restaurant (Unionville)

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated a Server who is over the age of 50 looking to join our restaurant team. This role is ideal for individuals with a background in food service and hospitality who are looking to leverage their expertise in a dynamic and customer-focused environment. The Retired Server will provide exceptional guest service, support food and beverage operations, and ensure a memorable dining experience for all patrons. Candidates with prior restaurant experience, especially in fine dining or nightlife settings, are encouraged to apply. Duties - Greet guests warmly and provide attentive table service, including taking orders and delivering food and beverages - Utilize POS systems for order entry, billing, and payment processing - Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities - Assist with food handling, sanitation, and food safety protocols to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene - Support food preparation tasks as needed, including bussing tables and assisting kitchen staff when appropriate - Manage guest relations by addressing inquiries, resolving concerns promptly, and ensuring overall guest satisfaction - Handle cash transactions accurately through cashiering and cash handling procedures - Maintain a clean, organized work environment adhering to sanitation standards - Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient restaurant operations during service hours Skills - Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests professionally and courteously - Excellent time management skills - Ability to upsell menu items confidently while maintaining guest satisfaction - Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures - Previous experience in fine dining or nightlife environments is advantageous - Effective communication skills for guest relations, team coordination, and sales opportunities - Basic math skills for cashiering, cash handling, and bill splitting - Hospitality background with experience in serving, bussing tables, or as a host/hostess is desirable This position is perfect for retired servers seeking a rewarding role that values their expertise in food service while offering flexibility within the hospitality industry.
