Let's cut the corporate BS and get real. When you came across this posting you probably thought "GM of a restoration company? That's an on-call job. Probably running around in a pickup truck at 3am, fighting with adjusters, working for a family that won't pay me what I'm worth. Pass." Didn't your parents teach you not to judge a book by its cover? Let me tell you why that assumption is wrong and why this is the best career move you can make right now: A massive chance for your career The Canadian commercial restoration market is structurally upside down. The top is dominated by operators (Belfor, FirstOnSite, Paul Davis
Canada, ServiceMaster Restore, Onside) all running on someone else's clock — private equity holding periods, public-company quarterly reporting, or a captive insurer's claim flow. The middle is franchise networks where
service consistency depends on whichever owner-operator is signing the cheques that week. There is a real lane for a family-owned, corporately-controlled, Canadian restoration operator that carriers can put on their panel and stop worrying about. We are that operator. The work has been running for 27 years. The platform is built. What is missing is the GM who turns it into the company that outlasts everyone above. An amazing company to work for Over 70 years in business. The restoration division has been running since 1999. Over 1,000 employees, 35 million square feet serviced on the cleaning side, and we have been handling the losses inside those same buildings for 27 years. Our eNPS is +52. The industry average is negative. Family-owned and operated. No outside capital. No PE board telling us to cut corners or run an exit clock. We make decisions based on what is right for our people and our clients. We move fast because we can. We restore for the kinds of buildings most operators never get to touch While we can't name names, the buildings we work in include some of the most recognizable commercial real estate across the GTHA — office towers, retail flagships, industrial campuses, sports venues, hospitality, and institutional properties. Most restoration operators have to break into buildings like these cold. We do not. Fun fact: if you happen to be a sports fan, working at Impact comes with access to some pretty cool venues. We can share more on this. A people-first organization We screen for character before credentials at every level. We invest in our people in ways most companies would scoff at. We recognize and reward our senior operators early and often. In most large operators you are one regional GM of forty. In most franchises your upside is capped at whatever the franchisor lets you keep. At Impact you are the GM. You build the team, set the standard, own the result, and share in what you create. If you are looking for a place to coast, do not apply. If you have been waiting for the chance to run a restoration company built for the long run, read on. Sincerely, a guy who's tired of watching American capital roll up our industry one shop at a time (George Boutsalis) Meet Impact Impact Restoration is the restoration arm of Impact Group of Companies. We cover the full four-phase scope inside one family of companies — Respond, Remediate, Restore, Rebuild — with one project manager from first notice of loss through hand-back. No vendor handoff between mitigation and rebuild. No "that's the sub's problem." We are on a deliberate path to build the Canadian commercial restoration operator that outlasts the consolidators dominating the market today. Thinking in decades, not quarters. You are the GM who runs the build. The opportunity You are taking a 27-year-old operating division and turning it into the operator we want it to be. You own the P&L;, the carrier and client relationships, the technology and tooling, the certification stack, and the team — Project Managers, Supervisors, Leads, Technicians — and the standard they hold. You report directly to the President. Vice Presidents sit next to you on technology, people, and account management. The platform is there. What is missing is the operator who does the work. What we offer you A real platform to build on 27 years of operating history. A 1,000-employee parent group. Sister companies that handle the rebuild side. And a structural advantage inside our group of companies that no other restoration operator in this market can match — but we are keeping that one under wraps because we do not want our competitors reading about it on a job posting. We will walk you through it when we talk. Direct access to ownership You report to the President. We talk often. Inside the approval gates, you run it. Outside them, we decide together. No layers, no committees, no slide deck purgatory. Top-of-market compensation Base, performance bonus, profit sharing, vehicle, and extensive health benefits. Structured so the operator who builds this division shares meaningfully in the value they create. Performance-based career growth The best performers get the biggest seats. As the division scales, the role scales with it. Investment in you Direct mentorship from the President. Industry conferences, certifications, and a development budget.
