Overview We are seeking a Senior Microsoft Azure & Databricks Architect to provide technical and sales leadership and evangelism across complex, enterprise-scale data, analytics, and AI modernization initiatives. This role represents architecture across Microsoft Azure and Databricks platforms, shaping technical strategy, coordinating with delivery leadership, and acting as a trusted technical authority for both clients and internal teams. As a senior individual contributor, this role combines deep hands‑on architecture expertise with platform governance, mentorship, and client advisory responsibilities. Primary Location: Across Canada Work Model: Hybrid / Remote (project-dependent) Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time Vacancy Status: New Responsibilities - Accountable for pre‑sales technical leadership deeply partnering with the sales and alliances teams. - Own end‑to‑end architecture for enterprise Azure and Databricks platforms across multiple, concurrent initiatives. - Lead design of scalable, secure, and cost‑optimized data platforms including lakehouse, data warehouse, streaming, and AI workloads. - Define target‑state architectures, reference patterns, and technical standards aligned with Microsoft and Databricks best practices. - Architect Azure environments including landing zones, networking, security, identity, governance, and Fin Ops. - Design and govern Databricks Lakehouse architectures using
Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and medallion patterns. - Lead client architecture workshops, technical assessments, and roadmap definition sessions. - Partner with Delivery Leads and
Engineering teams to ensure solutions are implemented as designed. - Identify technical risks and provide mitigation strategies across the project lifecycle. - Mentor Lead Architects, Architects, and Senior Engineers on architecture decisions and implementation patterns. - Review and approve architecture designs, solution documents, and platform configurations for quality and compliance. - Accountable to develop and present pre‑sales materials, statements of work and assessment outcome artifacts. - Prepare collateral for customers and partners, including presentations, solution blueprints, consumption forecasts etc. Qualifications, Skills & Experience - 10+ years of experience in data, analytics, and cloud architecture roles supporting enterprise‑scale platforms. - Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure architecture including security, networking, identity, governance, and cost management. - Advanced hands‑on experience designing and delivering Databricks Lakehouse solutions at enterprise scale. - Solid background in modern data architecture, data engineering, and analytics platforms. - Proven experience leading architecture across multi‑team, complex delivery environments. - Ability to communicate architectural concepts clearly to technical and executive stakeholders. Nice to Have - Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect certification. - Databricks Professional or Expert‑level certifications. - Experience with Microsoft Fabric in Azure–Databricks hybrid architectures. - Industry domain experience such as Financial Services, Retail, Manufacturing, Energy, or Public Sector. - Experience contributing to architecture standards, accelerators, or practice governance.
