Description
We are a fast-paced bakery manufacturing plant dedicated to producing high-quality baked goods for our customers. Our team is committed to excellence, efficiency, and safety in everything we do. We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team and support the smooth operation of our production facility. Position Overview The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of bakery production equipment, machinery, and facility systems. This role ensures minimal downtime, maximizes efficiency, and helps maintain a safe working environment. Key Responsibilities - Perform regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on bakery manufacturing equipment (mixers, ovens, proofers, conveyors, packaging machines, etc.). - Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues. - Respond to equipment breakdowns quickly to minimize production downtime. - Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance tasks according to the maintenance program. - Maintain accurate records of work orders, repairs, and parts used. - Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, etc.). - Assist with installation, setup, and testing of new equipment. - Collaborate with production staff to identify recurring issues and suggest improvements. - Maintain inventory of tools, spare parts, and supplies. - Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability and plant efficiency. Qualifications & Skills - High school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma/certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical, Mechanical, or a related field preferred. - Minimum 2–3 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or food production environment (bakery experience an asset). - Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. - Experience with PLCs, automated equipment, and troubleshooting control systems is an asset. - Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams. - Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and safety-first mindset. - Physically fit with the ability to lift, bend, and work in hot/cold environments. - Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and respond to on-call maintenance needs.
