Millwright, Greater Toronto Area

Overall Function:

As a member of the maintenance team , the Millwright reports to the Technical Manager, and is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing injection molding machine control systems as well as other miscellaneous equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform predictive preventative maintenance of plastic extrusion equipment, manufacturing machinery and machine shop equipment and tools.
• Perform preventative maintenance on tools with hydraulic & pneumatic systems.
• Maintain injection molding machines such as Nissei, Toshiba, Mitsubishi, Engel - newer and older models.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment system faults, ensure adequate control and safety measures are working and enforced. Enlist OEM as required.
• Initiate purchase orders for equipment and machinery, parts and materials for production and building requirements, and maintaining critical spares and maintenance inventories.
• Perform emergency/ unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Support maintenance and operational needs. Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records (CMMS system, and ESA logbook).
• Maintain, repair, test, program and install electrical motors, hydraulics, pneumatic electrical control systems, sensors, and variable frequency drives.
• Perform troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance to simple control networks.
• Coordinate health and safety awareness sessions.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

• College degree, diploma, program and/or Millwright 433A and/ or 442A Electrician certification.
• Minimum of three (3) years' experience in manufacturing environment specializing in injection molding.
• Demonstrated diagnostic trouble shooting abilities.
• Mechanical, electrical/ electronic experience and training.
• Comfortable with using computer applications and digital technology.
