Schedule The successful candidate will work 12‑hour shifts, days and nights (0730‑1930 and 1930‑0730). Schedules are subject to change based on operational needs. Compensation BAND CU10: $$ Contract Length Full Time Temporary (until approx. September 2024) Responsibilities As a Registered Practical Nurse in the Childbirth and Children’s Centre, you will be part of a health care team that promotes patient/family centered care and puts the patient at the center of the decision‑making process. You will provide care for mothers and their newborns in Antepartum and Postpartum. Qualifications Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses. Minimum one year experience in maternal child required. Current neonatal resuscitation certification required. Completion of Perinatal/Obstetrics course preferred. Current Fetal Health Surveillance certification. Current BCLS certification. A breastfeeding course is required (or commitment to complete within 3 months of employment). Initiative Demonstrated valuable attendance and performance records with ability to maintain standards. Committed to a healthy and protected workplace for staff, patients, families, etc., by compliance with policies, health and safety legislation, best practices, and completing mandatory education. Proficiency Completion of Medication Administration certification required. RPNAO membership is preferred. Excellent physical assessment skills. Proficient computer skills.
