STORE MANAGERTitle: Store Manager Reports To: District Manager Reports to this Position: Assistant Store Manager, Jewelry Consultant, Sales Support and Inventory Control Position SummaryReporting to the District Manager (DM), the Store Manager (SM) will lead the day‐to‐day operations of a single store to achieve all sales, profitability, customer satisfaction, inventory control, brand representation and team member growth and development, maximizing store results. Through personal selling, leadership, and coaching, the SM will champion a People First store environment that promotes diversity and inclusion, the development of lifetime relationships with customers and the delivery of a best‐in‐class customer experience. Coaches and develops the store staff to instill an understanding of brand image, to ensure consistent representation of the brand in customer interactions, and to execute store visuals and marketing. Supports and communicates the strategic relevance of corporate initiatives and executes corporate plans to produce desired results. Demonstrates the highest level of professionalism to customers and team members by displaying integrity, honesty and by conducting himself/herself in a manner that influences and earns the respect of team members and management. Displays a positive and enthusiastic attitude to inspire and motivate others to achieve and attain goals. Customer ObsessionResponsible for ensuring team members and self deliver an exceptional customer experience through training, outreach, communication and clear expectations. Empowers team members to respond to and resolve customer issues within established parameters and drives a high level of customer service through follow‐up and outreach. Compiles and follows up on customer requests. Critical Thinking & Innovative ActionAttains sales projections and quotas set by the Company and develops strategies to maximize both personal and team sales potential while achieving goals. Observes operations to identify successes and opportunities for improvement; identifies strengths, root causes of operational problems, coaches staff to address and correct. Reviews and analyzes reports, identifies trends and opportunities and develops plans to address issues. Keeps management informed of marketing, merchandising and payment programs of competitors and advises management of new or changing merchandise, services needs and excesses. Implements initiatives that change behaviors to produce results and fosters an workplace of open communication and collaboration with other Signet SMs in the same mall or vicinity. Works a schedule based on the right time to effectively run business including a combination of opening and closing shifts, weekdays and weekends as required by operating hours and customer traffic. Typical hours should aim for a five‐day, 40‐hour work week during non‐peak periods; hours increase during peak selling periods. Performs additional duties and projects as assigned. Consistent regular scheduled attendance is an essential function of this job. Work Schedule During non‐peak periods, managers should aim for a five‐day, 40‐hour work week. Schedule based on the right time to effectively run your business. A combination of both opening and closing shifts is scheduled throughout the week, considering: Operating hours, sales requirements, customer traffic, proper store coverage and time to coach, train and develop the team. Position Qualifications Education: Minimum of 2 years of college preferred. Experience: At least 3 years of retail sales experience, or 2 years of retail sales experience plus at least 1 year of retail management experience. Preference for candidates with specialty retail or jewelry experience. Preference for candidates who are Diamond Council of America (DCA) certified. Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency with computers and advanced proficiency in MS Office and other related business, technology and communication tools. Strong interpersonal skills to build effective employee and customer relationships. Advanced presentation skills for team training and customer presentations. Strong problem‐solving and conflict management skills. Professional presentation via email, social media, video conference, telephonic and text communication. Ability to plan and organize tasks to meet deadlines and expectations. Ability to work independently without immediate supervision. Ability to set priorities, develop plans, delegate to others and achieve team goals. Ability to understand and explain detailed information thoroughly. Reliable and dependable. Additional Language(s) Required: Bilingual skills are a plus. Physical DemandsThe employee is regularly required to communicate with and comprehend others, stand, reach with hands and arms and move between display cases to handle merchandise. The employee must also sit, stoop, bend, kneel or crouch as needed and lift up to 10 pounds. Visual acuity is required to discern differences in gemstone quality, with or without a loupe. Standard workweek regularly includes weekends, evenings, holidays and extended hours. Travel to training sessions and business meetings, including air travel and overnight travel, may be required. CompensationBase pay ranges from $58,240 to $72,800 plus commission on sales. Final pay rate is determined based on experience and qualifications.
