Toronto Automation is seeking a Supervisor, Electrical Assembly to be part of a world class team that is responsible for designing and building automation equipment supplied to Tesla Factories. This energetic, skilled, cost-conscious, team-oriented individual will supervise a team of technicians ensuring that they perform at a high level while meeting the needs of the production floor. The individual will be responsible for all Electrical Assembly related metrics for their shift. They will performance manage their team to generate the highest value from every employee while maintaining a high level of technical ability and driving towards quality and schedule. Shift: 3:30PM - 1:00AM; Monday - Thursday and 2:30PM - 11:00PM; Friday What You'll Do - Work with day shift supervisor, sync on daily hand over tasks to maintain schedule and priorities - Fulfill supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws while observing all safety policies during the execution of required tasks - Support the hiring and training process of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems - Drive improvement activities across the shift to increase team knowledge and capability while adhering to strict 5S standards and maintain cleanliness on the floor and within automation cells - Provide support for recent equipment installation, startup, and hand over - Work from schematics, diagrams, layouts, defined plans, and written/verbal instructions - Troubleshoot down equipment to root cause and suggest long-term countermeasures for elimination What You'll Bring - Degree in Electrical
Engineering, or equivalent experience - Applicable documented Training and/or Certifications a plus, 442A Industrial Electrician license - Read Seal (preferably) - 3+ years of supervisory experience is preferred with 5+ years of general manufacturing processes and automation build experience, including electrical and/or controls systems is preferred - In-depth knowledge of
Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC), CSA standards (C22.1, Z432), and Ontario OHSA requirements, Electrical Standards (NFPA79, National Electric code, UL508A) and Safety standards (ANSI/ RIA15.06, OSHA) - Strong knowledge of automation equipment build practices, codes, regulations, and safety protocols - Effective verbal and written communications skills along with strong attention to detail, flexibility, and prioritization - Firsthand experience with robotics and PLC systems, including practical knowledge of troubleshooting, integration, and commissioning within automated manufacturing environments Tesla is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer committed to diversity in the workplace.
