Position Overview As a member of the Surgical System team, you will be responsible for all aspects of nursing care and provision of services in the Outpatient Procedure Suites (OPS) – Procedure Unit. Responsibilities Complete endoscopy‑related procedures (colonoscopy, gastroscopy, ERCP and bronchoscopy), urologic surgical procedures (TURP, laser stone extraction, cystoscopy) and minor surgical procedures from the urologic, plastic and ear/nose/throat specialties (if OR certified). Actively participate in patient safety and patient advocacy throughout the care experience while working in an interprofessional team environment. Qualifications RN with undergraduate nursing degree. Certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of
Ontario as a Registered Nurse. Post‑graduate Certificate in Operating Room Nursing is an asset. Current BCLS certification. Minimum of 2 years working in an endoscopy‑related procedure environment required. Knowledge of the OPANA standards is an asset. Membership with the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO). Ability to work both independently and as part of an interprofessional care team member. Excellent communication skills with the ability to foster positive working relationships with interprofessional team members. Familiarity with skilled and hospital standards, guidelines, and procedures. Excellent problem‑solving skills, negotiation and conflict‑resolution skills. Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback. Excellent organizational skills with an ability to prioritize. Proficient computer skills. Evidence of professional development, continuing education and leadership experience is required. Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards. Commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with organization‑related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required. Work Schedule The successful candidate must be available to work Monday – Friday, days. Shifts include 4, 6, 8 and 10 hour blocks, including but not limited to: 0700h – 1700h, 0730h – 1530h, 0800h – 1600h, 0830h – 1630h, 0900h – 1700h, 0700h – 1100h, 0800h – 1200h and 1200h – 1600h. Please note schedules may change due to operational needs. Compensation BAND J. Range: $41.18 – $59.03.
