Slingshot Transportation, Inc / Slingshot Brokers, Inc. – Driven for Excellence – Powered by People We have an exciting opportunity for a Dispatch Coordinator to join our growing logistics team in Milton Ontario. Compensation: $50,000-$55,000 depending on experience Shift: Week 1: Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Friday Week 2: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday Hours: Days is 4:30am – 4:30pm OR Nights: 4:30pm – 4:30am Detailed Responsibilities and expected results: Inbound Coordination: · Greet and check in all inbound drivers arriving at the Halton Hills yard. · Collect and review all inbound paperwork to ensure required documentation is complete and accurate. · Enter and update shipment information, carrier information, and status updates in Google Sheets and other company systems as required. · Provide inbound paperwork to customer Shipping / Receiving, or Warehouse personnel for processing. · Maintain organized and accurate records of all inbound shipments. · Communicate with Fresh Taste personnel regarding inbound carrier arrivals, priorities, and operational requirements. · Direct Drivers to assigned staging areas or dock doors for loading / unloading as directed by Fresh Taste staff. · Escalate any shipment discrepancies, delays, or documentation to Milton Dispatch as required. · Ensure completion of yard checks as required by Dispatch, min of every 2 hours or as requested · Monitor the yard for any safety concerns and address them with Dispatch Manager, Milton for resolution · Maintain a safe working environment. Outbound Coordination: · Verify outbound shipment documentation for completeness and accuracy. · Verify trailer seal numbers against shipping documentation (i.e. BOLs or transfer sheets) prior to departure. · Verify reefer trailer temperatures meet customer requirements (as indicated on the BOLs or transfer sheets) and shipping instructions. · Verify transfer sheets and supporting documentation are completed accurately before driver departure. · Communicate any discrepancies immediately to Milton Dispatch and / or customer personnel for resolution. · Assign drivers and distribute outbound paperwork to drivers for moving trailers out of the yard. · Ensure all required documentation (transfer sheets, PODs) are returned, filed, and maintained according to company procedures. Dispatch Support · Maintain continuous communication with the Milton Dispatch team regarding yard activity and requirements. · Provide regular updates regarding available drivers, available equipment, empty trailers, and trailer inventory within the yard · Assist dispatch with tracking equipment locations and trailer availability. · Support load planning by providing accurate and timely yard status updates. · Assist in resolving operational issues involving drivers, equipment, and customer requirements. · Communicate delays, service issues, or customer concerns to Milton Dispatch in a timely manner. · Maintain positive and professional relationships with drivers, customers, vendors and colleagues. Administrative Responsibilities: · Maintain accurate Google Sheets, spreadsheets and operational tracking documents. · Prepare shift notes for hand-off and communicate all relevant information to Milton Dispatch and Dispatch Manager. · Maintain organized records and documentation in accordance with company procedures. Qualifications: Knowledge: · Working knowledge in the transportation industry · Strong knowledge of equipment including tractors and trailers Skills and Abilities: · Ability to multi-task, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment · Ability to maintain a positive working environment · Comfortable in a setting which includes office staff, associates, and drivers · Ability to listen, speak fluent English and communicate effectively. · Ability to work in a team environment in high pressure situations · Strong written and oral communication skills are essential Other Requirements: · Must be able to work in fast-paced, multi-dimensional and highly demanding office environment · Ability to lift 40 lbs and be on your feet for extended periods of time. · Previous transportation, dispatch, warehouse, or logistics experience is considered an asset · Ability to work flexible hours when required · Reliable transportation to and from the Halton Hills facility. · Must hold a valid Class G License · Strong attention to detail and commitment to customer service. Successful applicants must have a solid understanding of the transportation industry, minimum of 2 years transportation , Dispatch or Logistics Coordinator experience, a qualified approach and be proficient in MS Office.
