About You You are a strong, marketing-savvy writer with a good eye for layout and presentation. You are curious and comfortable asking questions to understand complex information, and you enjoy interviewing people, gathering insights and turning what you learn into clear, engaging content.
You have a good sense of how to communicate with different audiences and can adapt tone, format and messaging accordingly. You’re comfortable putting together clean, well-formatted materials (e.g., two-pagers, web content) using basic design tools, even if you don’t have formal design training.
You understand the importance of consistency and take care to ensure materials are well-structured, polished and aligned with brand standards. You’re organized, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple pieces of work at once.
What You’ll Be Doing Landscape Ontario delivers a number of Environment Projects/workforce development programs such as Water Smart and Fusion, to support skills development and strengthen the landscape trades.
You will support the development of communications materials for these initiatives, with a focus on ensuring they are clear, relevant and tailored to specific audiences.
Reporting to the Director of Communications, with a dotted-line relationship to the Director of Workforce Development, you will work closely with internal teams and external subject matter experts to understand the programs in detail and translate that information into well-structured, audience-focused content. This includes developing print and digital materials and web copy that clearly communicate program value and support engagement across different audiences.
You will also support efforts to elevate Landscape Ontario’s environmental programs through communications, helping ensure they are clearly positioned and relevant to key audiences, including members, the broader landscape trades industry (including non-members), municipalities and the general public (e.g., homeowners). All materials will be developed inalignment with Landscape Ontario’s brand, tone and standards.
