Receiver/ Yard & Retail Associate (Milton)

Job Overview We are looking for a dependable, hardworking Receiver / Yard & Retail Associate to join our team. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role that plays a key part in keeping our operations running smoothly—both in the yard and on the retail floor. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while handling inventory, customer service, and claims processing. Responsibilities - Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders - Identify, document, and report damaged, missing, or incorrect items - Process all claims for shortages, damages, and discrepancies - Follow up on outstanding claims to ensure timely resolution and credits - Safely unload trucks using forklifts and other equipment - Organize and maintain yard inventory (lumber, building materials, etc.) - Prepare and stage orders for customer pickup and deliveries - Load customer vehicles safely and efficiently - Maintain a clean, organized, and protected yard and receiving area - Follow all company procedures and safety policies Requirements - Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and condition - Load, unload, and move materials safely (manual and equipment-assisted) - Organize and maintain yard and warehouse inventory - Assist customers in the yard and retail area with product selection and loading - Process all types of claims (damaged goods, shortages, returns, vendor claims) accurately and in a timely manner - Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas - Support retail operations, including stocking shelves and merchandising - Follow all company policies and safety procedures Physical Requirements - Ability to lift 50–100 lbs regularly - Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions - Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods - Willingness to perform repetitive and physically demanding work Qualifications - Previous experience in receiving, warehouse, yard, or retail environment preferred - Experience with claims processing is a strong asset - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills - Ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy environment - Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic - Forklift experience/certification is an asset (or willingness to be trained) What We Offer - Competitive wages based on experience - Stable, full-time or part-time hours - Training and development opportunities - Supportive team environment - Opportunity to grow within the company How to Apply Apply through Indeed or submit your resume in-store.
