Job Summary
The Junior Full Stack Developer – coop role is to help plan, design, develop, test, launch, and maintain software applications in support of the achievement of business requirements. This includes researching, designing, documenting, and modifying software programs and applications throughout the system life cycle. Responsibilities
Maintain safety standards of equipment and work area and perform all duties in a safe manner according to the safety policies of Karmax and Section 28 of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations for Industrial Establishments. Perform all duties in an environmentally responsible manner in accordance with the Karmax Environmental Policy Statement—3 P’s. Assist in feasibility studies for the establishment of new or revised systems and procedures. Carry out systems analysis and design at a junior level; formulate logical statements of operational, administrative, or financial problems using structured systems design techniques. Ensure designs meet operational needs and requirements of the users. Work directly with users to determine systems requirements and meet with senior management. Employ iterative development techniques in the implementation of systems. Design and develop front‑end and back‑end components/services for new and existing applications. Integrate internal systems to external applications/services. Assist other staff with all systems and procedures to ensure conformance to standards. Design, code, test, debug, and document new and existing applications in accordance with departmental programming and development standards. Understand version control and source code management. Keep current with software and hardware technology, understand emerging trends, and keep team members informed. Assist the project leader and other staff involved in detailed design and coding of system projects. Attend code reviews with Senior and Junior Developers. Attend regular status meetings with project team members to determine business priorities. Flexible to work occasional overtime and perform other duties as required. Requirements
Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree or Community College diploma in Computer Studies, Computer Science, Science, Engineering or Mathematics or equivalent. Applicants must be enrolled in a recognized post‑secondary co‑op program. Moderate level of application experience. Knowledgeable in several modern programming languages and schema design concepts. Knowledgeable in the use of at least one modern Database Management System. Experience working both independently and in a team‑oriented, collaborative environment. Skills and Competencies
Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills. Excellent problem‑solving and interpersonal skills. Understands operating systems and networking. Strong user orientation and customer focus. Work Environment
Must be able to work in various locations within and outside the Manufacturing Plant. Must be able to work outside of normal office hours to meet needs of the position with minimum supervision.
