Accounting Manager-Credit (Milton)

Our client is in the logistics and transportation industry. They are looking for an Accounting Manager who will be responsible for leading and structuring our accounting department within a fast-paced logistics environment. This role will oversee a team of three accounting staff and be responsible for establishing productive processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting operational decision making. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership skills, industry specific knowledge and the ability to build scalable accounting practices that align with the unique demands of logistics operations. Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger functions Lead, mentor and develop our accounting department, fostering accountability and continuous improvement Design, implement and optimize accounting processes, internal controls and departmental structure. Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Prepare and review financial statements, variance analyses, and management reports Monitor cash flow, budgeting and forecasting activities to support business planning Ensure compliance with applicable accountings standards, tax regulations, and industry specific requirements Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to align financial practices with fleet management, fuel costs, freight billing and revenue recognition Oversee audits and liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies Support strategic decision making by providing financial insights and analysis Professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent) is an asset Minimum 3 years of experience as an Accounting Manager Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and internal controls Proven experience managing and developing accounting departments Experience with financial systems and ERP/accounting software Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
