R&D Associate (Mission)

Job Summary: The R&D; Associate will support the R&D; Manager and responsible for support in formulating, developing, and improving soap, detergent and personal care products in line with company goals, customer needs, and regulatory standards. This role involves hands-on formulation work, managing lab activities, supporting innovation projects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring new and improved products to market efficiently and cost-effectively. Key Responsibilities: - Assist in the development of new soap formulations (Laundry, Dish, Household Cleaners, HABA product etc) in line with company strategy and market trends. - Support improvements to existing products with a focus on performance, cost reduction, and sustainability. - Conduct stability testing, performance evaluations, and compatibility assessments of formulations. - Prepare prototypes, raw material samples, and documentation for internal evaluation and customer trials. - Work closely with production, quality, procurement, and marketing teams to ensure smooth scale-up from lab to plant. - Maintain proper documentation including formulation records, lab notes, technical specifications, and regulatory compliance sheets. - Research and evaluate new raw materials, ingredients, and technologies from suppliers. - Ensure compliance with applicable local and international regulations, including cosmetic safety and labeling standards. - Monitor industry trends, competitors’ product launches, and consumer insights to propose new product ideas. Qualifications and Experience: - Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field. - 3–5 years of experience in an R&D; role, preferably in soap or personal care product manufacturing. - Hands-on experience with formulation and product development. - Understanding of surfactants, emulsifiers, preservatives, fragrances, and natural ingredients. - Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as FDA, REACH, EPA, USDA. - Familiarity with lab instrumentation and software used in product testing and documentation. - Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills. - Strong technical writing and communication skills, able to clearly articulate sometimes complex topics in a way that is understood by a variety of audience members. Preferred Skills: - Experience with green/eco-friendly formulations or sustainable packaging. - Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and ISO standards. - Creative thinker with a passion for innovation in the personal care industry.
