Restaurant customer service (Mississauga)

Overview We are seeking a friendly and efficient Customer Service Representative to join our team in delivering exceptional service to our valued customers. This role involves engaging with customers, handling transactions, and ensuring a positive experience in a quick-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food industry operations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Previous restaurant experience, familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS, and food safety knowledge are highly desirable. Responsibilities - Greet customers warmly and provide attentive service throughout their visit - Take customer orders accurately using POS systems, including Micros POS - Handle cash transactions and perform cash handling duties with precision - Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales - Prepare food items following established safety and sanitation standards - Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the dining area and kitchen workspace - Ensure food safety protocols are adhered to at all times - Manage time efficiently during busy periods to serve customers promptly - Assist with food preparation and basic kitchen tasks as needed - Provide information about menu items, specials, and dietary options - Handle customer inquiries or complaints professionally and courteously Qualifications - Previous experience in food service or restaurant environment preferred - Knowledge of POS systems, especially Micros POS, is a plus - Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor - Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy - Familiarity with food safety standards and sanitation practices - Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting - Experience with food preparation, serving, or cashiering is advantageous - Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude - Food industry knowledge including food handling, sanitation, and upselling techniques is desirable This role is vital in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests while ensuring efficient operations behind the scenes.
