Sr. Control, Automation and Electrical Engineer – Mississauga, Canada The role reports to the Project Manager on small projects and to the Control, Automation and Electrical Lead Engineer on larger projects. The position has two distinct functions: on‑site commissioning and office‑based project execution. On-Site Responsibilities - Independently execute all commissioning activities. - Take ownership of project tasks to ensure timely completion, and work with minimal supervision. - Troubleshoot and resolve issues. - Collaborate with client and contractors. - Guide the work of others, including contractor staff. - Perform factory acceptance testing and site acceptance testing. Office‑Based Responsibilities - Assist with the delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, cost and schedule. - Prepare technical documentation required for project execution, subject to approval of the Control, Automation and Electrical Lead Engineer. - Manage and coordinate the progress of the engineering work in accordance with the project scope, schedule and procedures. - Review shop drawings to ensure conformity with engineering designs. - Monitor fabrication and construction work to ensure it is executed per engineering designs after contract awards. - Witness Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT). - Implement corrective action as required. - Review quality audit outcomes of engineering work and perform remedial work per project procedures and quality assurance plan. - Ensure documentation and interdisciplinary coordination is implemented per project procedures. - Prepare draft monthly engineering progress reports for inclusion in the engineering monthly report. - Provide a monthly update of the progress of the engineering work packages. - Compile Functional Control Specifications and program control systems. About You - Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university. - 12+ years of project engineering experience, including 2‑3 years of commissioning experience. - Experience in electrical design/consultancy within a large engineering or multidisciplinary project environment. - Registered as a professional engineer with PEO (Professional Engineers Ontario). - Demonstrated hands‑on site experience and ability to work independently. - Ability to work in a rapid‑paced environment and resolve issues. - Ability to take initiative and work independently and as part of a team. - PLC/DCS programming experience (Rockwell preferred, DeltaV and ABB are assets). - Sound knowledge of 3D data‑centric design systems. - Experience with data‑centric design systems such as Smart Plant Electrical, Smart Plant Instrumentation. - Recent AutoCAD and MicroStation experience. - Ability to delegate tasks and effectively supervise others. - Good communication and interpersonal skills. - Good planning and organizational skills. - Ability to function with minimal supervision. - Good safety awareness. - Willingness to travel. Base salary range: $115,000 - $165,000 In addition to base pay, the total rewards package may include performance‑based incentives, comprehensive benefits and other programs designed to support your well‑being and growth.
