Description
Overview We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Production & Warehouse Lead Hand to support daily plant operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will oversee production, shipping/receiving, inventory coordination, and team performance while ensuring all safety and quality standards are maintained. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong organizational skills, forklift experience, and the ability to coordinate workflow across production and warehouse functions. Responsibilities - Lead and supervise plant staff to ensure daily production, shipping, and receiving goals are achieved safely and efficiently - Coordinate workflow, prioritize production schedules, and align activities with material planning and inventory requirements - Oversee incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of materials and finished products - Ensure production, warehouse, and logistics activities are synchronized to meet customer delivery timelines - Assist with scheduling labour resources to ensure adequate staffing levels across production and warehouse operations - Enforce company policies and procedures while promoting a positive and accountable team environment - Provide hands-on support during peak production periods or staffing shortages - Assist management with incident investigations and corrective actions when required - Conduct daily start-up meetings and communicate production priorities to staff - Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards across production and warehouse functions Requirements / Qualifications - - Minimum 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing, plant, or production environment in a lead hand, supervisory, or senior operator role. - Experience in operating a propane-powered counterbalance / forklift safely and efficiently. (Valid forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification) - Proven experience loading and unloading trucks using loading docks in a fast-paced industrial environment. - Strong understanding of workplace safety practices, procedures, and compliance requirements. - Experience coordinating daily production activities and supporting plant operations. - Ability to lead, train, and motivate team members while maintaining productivity and quality standards. - Strong understanding of warehouse and production workflows, including receiving, storage, staging, and shipping processes - Experience performing inventory checks, material handling, and production documentation. - Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook. - Strong leadership, communication, and safety-focused decision-making abilities - Ability to complete reports, maintain accurate records, and communicate effectively with team members and management. Assets (Not Required) Previous experience in inventory control, shipping/receiving, or logistics coordination. Experience operating overhead cranes and jib cranes. Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting experience in a plant or manufacturing environment. Experience using a label printing software Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards and internal auditing processes. Experience working with ERP and/or EDI systems. Ability to read and interpret engineer drawings. Experience training recent hires and onboarding staff. First Aid and/or Health & Safety certifications are considered an asset / WHMIS certification Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts Ability to lift, move, and carry materials up to 50 lbs Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse environment Ability to bend, twist, reach, and perform repetitive physical tasks Ability to work safely around forklifts, machinery, and industrial equipment Comfortable working in varying warehouse and production temperatures and conditions Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) Assessment Process Selected candidates will be required to complete: A practical forklift skills assessment demonstrating safe and competent operation of a propane-powered counterbalance forklift A basic math and logistics assessment related to inventory control, material flow, production calculations, and warehouse operations Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour Benefits: - Casual dress - Flexible schedule Work Location: In person Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2pdiir
