Inclusive Recreation Programmer Role in Mississauga

Become a key player in supporting individuals with disabilities as a Recreation Programmer, Inclusion at the City of Mississauga. This position ensures accessible and enjoyable recreational programming. Reporting to the Supervisor, Recreation Support Services, you will be responsible for implementing programs that promote inclusivity and safety. You will engage with participants and staff to provide tailored support, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere in all recreational activities. Your efforts will significantly influence their experiences. Key Responsibilities: • Facilitate one-on-one support for individuals in programs • Work with advocates to determine necessary accommodations • Assist staff with program design and delivery • Provide training to volunteers and part-time staff • Complete administrative tasks as needed Requirements: • Degree or diploma in relevant fields such as Recreation • Experience with program delivery for those with disabilities • Robust communication and problem-solving abilities • Must possess a valid CPR & First Aid certification • Access to a vehicle preferred for travel Support a culture of inclusion and safety for individuals with disabilities at the City of Mississauga.
