Overview
We are seeking a Tooling & Calibration Specialist to support development and production tooling activities across our Canada operations. The role involves managing tool assets, maintaining calibration schedules, and ensuring tool availability for engine builds. Responsibilities
Apply and adhere to EHS policies across all processes, tools, and equipment. Manage, track, maintain, and distribute tools and tooling assets used in development and production (as required). Ensure alignment of practices with other departments. Ensure tools are available, properly calibrated, stored, and accounted for to support protected and efficient operations. Coordinate with lead hands to ensure priorities are met and revision lists are updated. Manage tool calibration requirements, including monitoring usage and schedules. Coordinate internal and external repairs and revision changes with vendors and Plant 1 tooling staff, request repair quotes from external vendors. Issue damage reports and create eRFTs for new tools as needed. Perform minor on‑site repairs and fix damaged tools. Run “Inspection Due” reports (daily/weekly) and set inspection frequencies in ITDM. Complete Tooling Validation Tags and release tools for use. Register tool numbers in the ITDM database; manage tool delivery, status updates, and location tracking. Receive inspected/calibrated tools and verify inspection reports. Ensure all tools are complete and serviceable before release to the floor. Maintain accuracy of the ITDM system for tool location and status. Provide administrative support for Solex (storage warehouse) movements. Collaborate with Tool Coordinator, Pre‑dress Coordinator, Tool Services, and Dimensional Inspection to ensure full tool availability and serviceability. Ensure tools are available for upcoming engine builds and respond to tooling ANDONs. Participate in FOD and CORE activities. Maintain all tools and tool kits as FOD‑free. Support supervisors and leads in developing tool accountability and control processes. Support assemblers by providing tools from Production, Dimensional Inspection, or other plants as needed. Manage tool towers (foaming, labeling, organization). Perform other related duties and support additional areas as required (e.g., Pre‑dress). Qualifications
Thorough understanding of the tool validation process. Ability to work independently in a high‑pressure environment. Strong commitment to meeting customer requirements while maintaining the highest quality standards. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across Plant 22 and other plant locations. In‑depth understanding of tool drawings and their relationship to the assembly process. Strong mechanical aptitude with relevant hands‑on experience. Working knowledge of assembly and production functions and processes. Ability to manage departmental shift schedules and support weekday and weekend overtime as required. Fluent in both written and spoken English, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment. Quality‑driven with a commitment to delivering high standards in a demanding work environment. Benefits
