Intermediate Structural Engineer– Process and Mine Infrastructure Design (PMID) Group Step into a role where your structural expertise directly shapes the success of complex mining and industrial facilities across Canada and beyond. As an Intermediate Structural Engineer within our Process and Mine Infrastructure Design (PMID)Group, you’ll contribute to projects that demand technical excellence, collaboration, and innovation—while continuing to grow alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams.
Your Impact
Design safe, reliable, and efficient structural systems for industrial and mining facilities from concept through construction
Develop structural layouts, calculations, analyses, specifications, material take‑offs, and cost estimates with increasing independence
Contribute to studies ranging from early‑stage conceptual design to detailed engineering and construction support
Guide and collaborate with structural designers through sketches, markups, and technical direction
Coordinate with mechanical, process, piping, and electrical teams to ensure integrated and constructible solutions
Participate in site visits to assess existing conditions, gather measurements, and support construction activities
Support proposal development, technical reports, and client presentations
The Skills That Set You Apart
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s degree considered an asset)
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario or eligibility to transfer; experience in heavy industrial and/or mining environments
4+ years of hands‑on experience designing concrete and steel structures for Canadian industrial or mining projects
Strong working knowledge of Canadian codes and standards, particularly steel and concrete design
Experience with structural analysis and design software such as RISA‑3D, S‑Frame, STAAD Pro, SAFE, or SAP
Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally, including short‑term rotations at remote sites
Clear technical communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment
Compensation AB, BC, NT, NU, SK&YT: $85,000 - $112,800
MB&ON: $77,700– $107,000
NB, NL, NS, PE&QC: $76,900– $102,100
