Description
KisoJi Biotechnology is a therapeutic antibody company that is developing mono- and multispecific antibody therapeutics by leveraging our state-of-the-art proprietary transgenic mouse (KisoMouse) platform for the generation of heavy chain-only antibodies (HCAbs). We are currently expanding our molecular biology team and are specifically looking for a Research Associate to expand our in-house Nanopore sequencing capabilities. This is an individual contributor position; the work requires on‑site laboratory bench work at our upcoming Toronto site expansion. Position: Research Associate Site: Toronto, Ontario, Canada Department: Molecular Biology Responsibilities - Establish, troubleshoot, and execute experimental pipelines for Nanopore sample preparation, quality‑control and sequencing - Generate amplicon libraries for other NGS analyses - Design, create and clone antibody/recombinant protein DNA constructs, and purify DNA (mini/midi/maxiprep) for subsequent transfection and testing - Analyze data and clearly communicate results in written reports and oral presentations - Support the creation of SOPs as required - Actively foster an setting of effective and collaborative working relationships within and across teams, and provide technical expertise in molecular biology methods - Participate in team meetings to assist in the coordination of project and departmental activities Essential qualifications - M.Sc. in a relevant field (such as genetics, cell biology, or molecular biology) with at least 1-3 years of experience in a results-oriented environment (such as industry or a core facility) - Significant experience with Nanopore MinION sequencing, from sample preparation and quality‑control to downstream results analysis - Experience with molecular biology techniques such as cloning and DNA extraction (mini/midi/maxiprep) - Independent technical troubleshooting skills - Ability to accurately follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and instructions, and to perform repetitive tasks - Strong time management skills, including the ability to effectively multi-task and work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment - Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to document all work clearly and completely; proficient with Microsoft Office suite - An enthusiasm for technology implementation rather than independent hypothesis-driven research Assets - Experience with other next-generation sequencing technologies (such as PacBio, Illumina) and library preparation is a plus - Experience with the design and troubleshooting of cloning projects is a definite plus - Experience in antibody discovery (e.g. phage display or mammalian display screening) is a plus Perks Benefits Package Includes - Health / Dental Insurance Plans - Paid Vacation and Holidays Incentive Programs Include - Training & Development Programs / Courses - Annual Performance Reviews with yearly bonuses Salary: The range for this position is $65,000-95,000.
