The Chance WSP has a recent opportunity for a Technical Report Author to join our Remediation Program Management team based in British Columbia. The role involves evaluating risk and advising on contaminated sites impacted by hydrocarbons (diesel, gasoline, crude oil, etc.). Applicants should be self‑motivated and demonstrate strong time‑management, communication, and teamwork skills. Our RPM team collaborates closely with environmental technicians, project coordinators, project managers, technical experts, and qualified professionals. We deliver contaminated site program management services to technically focused companies across Canada, handling health and safety, Phase I/II ESAs, risk assessment, and remediation for large‑scale projects from coast to coast. Your Impact - Participate in a team environment, working closely with Project Managers and Field Technicians. - Produce high‑quality written technical reports for environmental site assessment, monitoring, and remediation projects. - Prepare site closure documentation, including detailed site investigations and regulatory forms. - Perform QA/QC of laboratory data and generate tables. - Compare results to site‑specific regulatory guidelines and/or protocols for reporting to Project Coordinators, Project Managers, and Project Directors. - Generate and QA/QC regulatory checklists, forms, and other documents to meet provincial Contaminated Site Regulations, protocols, and guidelines. - Create, execute, and revise work plans to meet Project Manager requirements. The skills that set you apart - Bachelor’s degree in Geoscience and/or Engineering. - 4 to 6 years of direct experience in contaminated site assessments, site monitoring, and remediation. - Working knowledge of the BC Contaminated Sites Regulation and relevant protocols and technical guidance documents. - Experience with statistical analysis using common analytical software. - Strong technical writing skills. - Sound understanding of health and safety procedures and a safety‑conscious attitude. - Ability to work patiently with and help train less experienced team members. - Strong interpersonal, communication, and judgment skills. - Experience in the oil and gas sector is an asset. Preference will be given to those with extensive experience in soil and groundwater monitoring programs, Phase I and II environmental site assessments, site remediation, and provincial contaminated site checklists, forms, and protocols. Compensation - AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YK: $69,700 – $92,300 - MB & ON: $63,600 – $87,500 - NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $62,900 – $83,600 Disclosure The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
