Senior Finisher (Paint Shop) (Mississauga)

We are looking for a Senior Finisher who thrives in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail. You will be working in a very busy Paint Shop, brushing, spraying, or hand-rubbing finishing ingredients, such as paint, oil, stain, or wax, onto and into wood grain; then applying lacquer or other sealers. A typical day: - Disassemble items to prepare for finishing, using hand tools. - Examine furniture to determine the extent of damage or deterioration, and to decide on the best method for repair or restoration. - Fill and smooth cracks or depressions, remove marks and imperfections, and repair broken parts, using plastic or wood putty, glue, nails, and/or screws. - Follow blueprints to produce specific designs. - Mix finish ingredients to obtain desired colors or shades. - Remove accessories prior to finishing, and mask areas that should not be exposed to finishing processes or substances. - Conduct regular inspections of finished surfaces to ensure adherence to quality standards. Qualified candidates will have previous finishing experience, preferably in museum, trade show or event industry. Hours of work are 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM with opportunities for overtime.
