Position Summary The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for safely operating loaders, excavators, dozers and other equipment in quarry and aggregate operations. This role supports production activities by performing equipment operation, basic maintenance and site tasks, while working collaboratively with the crew in a fast-paced outdoor environment. Responsibilities - Operate a variety of heavy equipment in quarry and aggregate operations in a protected and efficient manner - Perform daily equipment maintenance, cleaning and servicing; complete minor repairs as required - Conduct pre-operational checks and complete maintenance records and daily equipment logs - Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment - Perform fluid level checks, fueling, greasing and undercarriage cleaning as required - Work collaboratively with crew members to support production activities Requirements - Experience operating heavy equipment (e.g. excavators, loaders, or dozers) preferred - Experience operating at least one type of heavy equipment and willingness to learn how to operate new equipment - Must have a valid minimum class 5 driver's licence - Experience with equipment inspections, fueling and greasing considered an asset - Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment in a safe and effective manner - Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others; team player who is willing to help out in all areas - Must have a high attention to detail and the ability to think critically - Punctual and reliable, with the ability to work overtime and weekends if needed - Must be able to work outdoors in physically demanding conditions - Travel between local quarry sites is required - Ability to work 12-hour shifts Culture Miller is proud to provide this unique career opportunity, we offer continuous learning, opportunity for growth, and a competitive compensation package.
