Senior Structural Engineer, Resources (Moncton)

Role Overview The Resources subsector within WSP’s Energy, Resources & Industry (ERI) group supports industrial and mining clients across Canada. To support our continued growth, we are hiring a Senior Structural Engineer. In this role, you’ll help deliver impactful industrial structural engineering projects—from conceptual design to construction—while collaborating with a tight‑knit team of engineers, designers, and technical specialists. The role is based in our New Brunswick offices. Responsibilities - Lead advanced analysis and the design of steel and concrete structures for major industrial facilities. - Mentor intermediate and junior engineers and designers. - Sign and seal calculations and technical documents in accordance with provincial requirements. - Perform technical reviews, validate structural models, and guide engineering decisions. - Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients and participate in strategic meetings. - Contribute to planning, cost estimating, risk management, and the development of service offerings. - Conduct key site visits and oversee construction reviews. - Support multidisciplinary coordination throughout the entire project lifecycle. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering; a master’s degree is an asset. - P.Eng. license in New Brunswick or Ontario. - Advanced experience in structural design within the industrial or mining sector. - Proven expertise in steel and concrete structures and in technical project management. - Robust knowledge of CSA standards, building codes, and advanced structural software (STAAD, S‑Frame, SAP2000, etc.). - Experience in multidisciplinary coordination and client relations. - Ability to mentor and develop talent within the team. - Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites.
