Description
Job Summary We are looking for a Manager, Structural Engineering to lead our Structural Division at GEMTEC in Moncton, New Brunswick. The role focuses on strategic leadership, operational delivery, financial performance, business development, and team growth across Atlantic Canada. Key Responsibilities - Chart strategic direction and establish technical excellence for the Structural Division. - Identify and pursue growth opportunities across public infrastructure, industrial, institutional, commercial, and energy sectors in Atlantic Canada. - Contribute to overall corporate strategy as a member of the leadership team. - Promote cross‑disciplinary collaboration across the organization. - Oversee structural engineering projects from proposal through completion, ensuring delivery on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. - Maintain robust QA/QC processes and regulatory compliance with provincial codes and standards (NBCC, CSA, etc.). - Develop and manage annual divisional budgets and monitor project profitability, utilization, and revenue targets. - Review and approve proposals, fee estimates, and change orders and support accounts receivable management. - Build and strengthen client relationships, lead proposal preparation and competitive pursuits, and represent GEMTEC at industry events and professional associations. - Provide senior technical oversight, review and seal engineering drawings, mentor engineers, and promote adoption of up-to-date tools such as BIM. - Recruit, mentor, and retain high‑performing engineers and technologists, conduct performance reviews, and support professional development. - Support succession planning within the Structural Division. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Structural specialization required). - Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in at least one Atlantic province; eligibility for registration in multiple jurisdictions preferred. - Minimum of 10 years of progressive structural engineering experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership or senior project management role. - Experience delivering consulting engineering projects and managing budgets with proven business‑development success. - Broad structural design experience across commercial, institutional, industrial, and infrastructure sectors. - Strong understanding of QA/QC systems and regulatory compliance. - Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for work‑related travel. - Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is an asset.
