Recreation Programmer The Recreation Programmer plays an essential role in enhancing quality of life for residents in Perley Health's long‑term care home. This role involves designing, planning, and delivering meaningful individual and group activities that support residents' physical, social, emotional, and spiritual well‑being. Key Responsibilities Provide individual and group recreational activities that support resident well‑being. Participate in planning, designing, developing, and delivering diverse recreation programs. Assess and provide feedback to ensure programs meet residents' physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs. Complete documentation using PointClickCare and ActivityPro. Foster a positive, resident‑centred workplace and contribute to interdisciplinary teamwork. Requirements 2‑year College Diploma in Recreation/Leisure Studies, Gerontology, or equivalent related experience. Previous experience working with individuals with dementia, ideally in a long‑term care setting. Current Food Handler's Certificate, can be obtained during employment. Strong communication skills in English; French is an asset. Key Competencies Ability to work effectively in a resident‑centred long‑term care setting. Robust interpersonal skills and ability to motivate and engage residents. Excellent organization, priority‑setting, and time‑management skills.
