Associate Editor Position at JCREOR (Montreal)

Enhance your editorial skills with the Journal of the Council for Research on Religion (JCREOR) as an Associate Editor. This part-time role focuses on peer review coordination, editing, and supporting authors. JCREOR is seeking two part time Associate Editors for a 12-month term beginning June 1st, 2026. This role emphasizes coordinating the peer-review process, copy-editing manuscripts, and providing writing assistance to authors. Ideal candidates will leverage their academic backgrounds to propose themes for special issues and identify new editorial board members. Key Responsibilities: - Coordinate the peer-review process for assigned manuscripts - Assist ESL and FSL authors with editing and writing - Copy-edit and proofread submitted articles - Support managing editors in various editorial tasks - Propose themes and identify Guest Editors for special issues Requirements: - Authorized to work in Canada and Quebec - Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written - Relevant academic background in research or publishing - Previous editorial or writing experience preferred - Ability to engage with diverse academic communities Contribute to the editorial process and support JCREOR's commitment to academic excellence.
