Financial Controller (Montreal)

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controllerto oversee day-to-day accounting operations and provide strategic financial leadership. Key Responsibilities Include Financial Operations Manage daily banking, cash flow, reconciliations, and deposits Oversee AP/AR including vendor payments, EFTs, progress draws, and project billings Prepare monthly financial statements, project cost reports, account reconciliations, and Project related progress draws Administer payroll (weekly union and semi-monthly cycles) and benefit programs Sage 300 accounting system tasks include job setup, company setup, and administration Manage month-end and year-end close‑out, including accruals and regulatory filings (HST, WSIB, EHT, corporate tax, etc.) Support financial forecasting, cost tracking, and insurance reporting Corporate & Administrative Functions Maintain intercompany agreements and contract documentation Manage insurance, bonding, and banking reporting Support budgeting, forecasting, and reporting Maintain corporate records and project‑related documentation Qualifications Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or similar designation preferred 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including 2–3 years in a senior or controller‑level role Construction accounting experience is considered a strong asset Strong working knowledge of Sage 300 Experience with payroll (including union payroll) and regulatory compliance Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities Strong analytical, communication, and leadership abilities If you are a hands‑on accounting professional with solid technical skills and experience managing financial operations, we invite you to apply.
