CAE is a global leader in training for civil aviation and defence and security. CAE is the prime contractor responsible for the NATO Flying Training in Canada’s (NFTC) program as well as the Future Air Crew Training (FACT) program, in Moose Jaw, SK, that produces qualified military pilots for the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) and other global defence customers. CAE operates the NFTC base facilities, delivers the ground‑school classroom and simulator training, and supports the live flying training on a fleet of Beechcraft T‑6 (CT‑156 Harvard) trainer aircrafts. The comprehensive academic, simulator and live flying training are integrated as part of this world‑class, turnkey training system.
The Aircraft Technician is responsible for conducting all servicing and maintenance tasks.
Position Details Shift: Monday to Friday, Day shift (7 AM - 3 PM) or Evening shift (3 PM - 11 PM)
Pay: Up to $43.96 per hour
All tooling provided on site. Clothing, work boots and safety glasses allowance provided. Expected hours: minimum 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities
Inspect, maintain, repair, and test aircraft systems.
Remove and replace line replaceable units and components.
Perform specialty work in maintenance shops as required.
Interpret technical publications and diagrams.
Maintain tools and equipment required to perform primary duties.
Order aircraft spare parts and materials.
Conduct flight line servicing operations.
Debrief Team Lead as required.
Carry out workplace inspections and clean‑ups.
Fill position of Desk Controller.
Qualifications
Transport Canada‑approved Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Diploma (or equivalence – Canadian Forces Avionics Technician).
Possession of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering E Licence.
No less than 4 years of aircraft‑related experience.
Minimum 3 years of 1st and 2nd line maintenance activities.
Experience in life‑cycle support activities is an asset.
Proven experience as a team player.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work shifts; some travel required.
Valid driver’s licence. Knowledge of aerospace design and maintenance practices.
Must obtain a Reliability security clearance from the Government of Canada.
Must be eligible to work in Canada, either as a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or valid work permit.
Candidate must successfully pass a security evaluation per the requirements of the Controlled Goods Directorate of Canada and enable CAE to obtain all necessary re‑transfer authorisation in compliance with US ITAR regulations.
