LevelGL-MAN-07 (C2). Temporary full‑time position for approximately one year. Duties - Operating and maintaining equipment used in research and field activities. - Assisting with planning, field set‑up, and seeding of trials. - Handling chemicals throughout the season to control weeds, diseases, and insects. - Harvesting trials in the fall using a combine. - Supporting research assistants by taking field notes, assessing pest issues, and helping plan field activities. - Assisting with sample collection, and organizing shipping and receiving of samples. Requirements Essential qualifications - Education: Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience. - Experience: Operating farm equipment (e.g., tractors, drills, sprayers, and combines); planning and coordinating field operations; handling agricultural chemicals; Microsoft Word & Excel; purchasing, shipping, and receiving. - Knowledge: Western Canadian crops and local farming practices; herbicides, fungicides and insecticides; soil fertilizer and nitrogen management. - Competencies: Planning and organization; teamwork; adaptability; concern for safety. - Language: English (essential). - Valid class5 Saskatchewan driver’s licence or provincial/territorial equivalent. - Valid pesticide applicator licence. - Ability to work overtime, evenings, weekends; perform physically demanding work; work with hazardous materials; work in harsh environmental conditions; manage allergies safely. Preferred / Asset Qualifications - Valid forklift operator licence. - Valid class1A driver’s licence. - Agricultural research experience. - Experience supervising small work groups and managing schedules. - Veteran status, Canadian citizen, permanent resident preferred.
