Senior Accountant (Mount Pearl)

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring and overseeing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting internal and external audits. This role requires a strong understanding of risk management within financial services, advanced analysis skills, and proficiency with accounting software. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial data and providing strategic insights to support business growth. Duties - Monitor and review work of in house bookkeeper - Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with regulatory standards and company policies - Prepare or review monthly reconciliatons - Prepare year-end closing activities and files, ensuring accuracy and timeliness for external accountant - Part time work 12-15 hours per week expected - Provide other CFO/Controller support as necessairy Skills - Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including experience with auditing processes - Proficiency in accounting software - Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data - Experience in risk management within financial services or similar industries - Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills - Ability to perform internal audits effectively and identify control weaknesses - Strong communication skills to explain complex financial information clearly - Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced workplace Benefits: - Casual dress - Flexible schedule - On-site parking Work Location: In person Apply on Kit Job: kitjob.ca/job/2otwc5
