Class 1 Driver (Nanaimo)

Vancouver Island trucking company looking for a versatile driver; who is professional, friendly, punctual, and reliable. We are looking for someone with availability for full-time hours. The ideal candidate will need to be flexible as we offer a variety of trucking services. Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Required : - Valid Class 1 driver’s license with a clean commercial driver’s abstract - Physically fit and able to repeatedly lift, stack, pull, and carry heavy items (up to 90 lbs) - Strong communication and customer service skills with English fluency - Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise during transit - Qualified driving experience - Perform basic automotive maintenance and checks as needed to ensure vehicle reliability - Experience operating heavy equipment, such as front-end loaders, is an asset Responsibilities Include : - Providing exceptional service to build and maintain quality customer relationships - Operating straight trucks or trailers safely and professionally to transport goods and materials over urban, short inter-urban, and rural routes - Conducting routine pre/post-trip truck inspections and maintaining accurate records of delivery routes, count sheets, and incident reporting - Performing product delivery verification with accompanying paperwork - Following health and safety, and safe work procedures Please send your resume and driver's abstract.
