Truck Driver - Class 3 (Nanaimo)

Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating tractor-trailers, As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. Your role is crucial in ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the highest standards of safety. This position would be a daily route to the northern part of Nanaimo as far as Campbell River. Responsibilities - Operate trucks with manual transmissions as well as automatic transmission. - Supervise and Ensure accuracy of freight being picked up at customers. - Load and unload freight efficiently while ensuring the safety of the cargo. - Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition. - *****Plan routes effectively to meet delivery schedules while considering traffic conditions. ****** - Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of driving hours and vehicle maintenance. - Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies during route driving. - Communicate effectively with dispatcher regarding delivery status and any issues that may arise. - Utilize forklifts when necessary for loading and unloading materials. Qualifications - Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record. - Proven experience in truck driving, particularly with larger trucks. - Familiarity with delivery driver responsibilities and freight handling procedures. - Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles is preferred. - Strong understanding of route planning and navigation skills. - Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently. - Proven experience in truck driving on Vancouver Island - Commitment to safety and compliance with all transportation regulations.
