Line Cook (Qualicum Beach)

The Sapphire Room at Crown Mansion Boutique Hotel in Qualicum Beach has an excellent prospect for a detailed, passionate, and creative individual to join our fine dining culinary team. You must have a passion for food and love working in a kitchen setting, always putting quality first. This position offers flexibility and requires the individual to be pro-active, with the ability to multi-task, take direction, and sometimes work independently. A team player with a great sense of humor who is hardworking, fun, friendly, and enthusiastic with a positive attitude is a must. Job Duties Include: - Assist with basic line prep. - Hot and cold line with quality and efficiency taking top priority. - Prepare and cook individual dishes or entire meals. - Maintain a clean and sanitary work station area. - Make sure daily cleaning jobs are completed. - Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. - Demonstrate proper use and knowledge of all food preparation, cooking equipment, and procedures. - Assist Executive Chef in all aspects of kitchen duties, such as menu planning, inventory, mentoring and quality control. Qualifications: - Previous experience is a must. - Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures. - Must be able to work in a fast paced environment. - Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
