Medical Office Assistant Nanaimo

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional administrative support within a busy medical or dental office, ensuring smooth daily operations. The position involves managing patient interactions, maintaining electronic medical records, and supporting clinical staff to deliver high-quality patient care. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors professionally at the front desk, creating a welcoming environment Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages efficiently Assist with check-in and check-out procedures, verifying patient information and updating records as needed Maintain and update electronic medical records using ACCURO with accuracy and confidentiality Prepare patient charts and documentation for appointments, procedures, or billing purposes Support administrative tasks including filing, faxing, scanning, and managing office supplies Requirements Prior experience in a medical office setting is preferred, especially with electronic medical records systems such as ACCURO. Proven office experience with proficiency in front desk operations and administrative tasks Experience handling multi-line phone systems efficiently and professionally Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and data entry Ability to work effectively in a quick-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and compassion Solid communication skills to interact effectively with patients, providers, and staff We thank all candidates for their interest, but we will only communicate with the candidates selected for an interview.
