School psychology services are team‑based, non‑categorical, psycho‑educational services designed to support students in their learning in addition to supporting their adaptive and social‑emotional development.
The school psychologist provides a continuum of preventative and intervention services as a member of a multidisciplinary team approach within the district’s Multi‑tiered System of Supports (MTTS) framework. The school psychologist facilitates the educational, personal, social, and emotional development of students in schools across the tiers of the MTSS model.
The school psychologist works in collaboration with the School-Based Team (SBT), other district Learning Services staff, and community partner agencies to assist in the development of supports for students and classrooms. School psychology services are always connected to the classroom and whole school environment (tier 1) with interventions within the other two tiers (tiers 2 and 3) being made available through consultation with the SBT.
Assignment 1 Temporary beginning September 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027, or return of incumbent to full contractual FTE.
Assignment 2 Continuing 0.40 FTE commencing September 1, 2026.
Location Multiple sites across the district.
Salary Range $62,657 – $113,004 per annum with a comprehensive benefit and pension package.
Your Education and Experience Professional Certification
Registered member of the BC College of Psychologists, required by August 1, 2026. Professional fees and insurance will be covered by the District.
BC Teacher Regulation Branch certification is preferred.
Education and Training
A Masters Degree in Psychology or School Psychology, or equivalent.
Credentials to administer and interpret individual intelligence and curriculum‑based assessments up to and including Level C as per Ministry of Education guidelines.
A Bachelor of Education is preferred.
Additional Requirements
Experience and training related to school settings; and
Proof of clinical supervision, training, and experience in writing reports with appropriate school‑based recommendations.
