Cook I Position - Island Health Facilities, Qualicum Beach

Become a Cook I with Island Health and help provide quality meals across facilities in beautiful Vancouver Island, BC. This role offers casual positions and flexible shifts to meet your schedule.

As a Cook, you will prepare and serve various meals, manage therapeutic diets, and direct kitchen tasks. Your responsibilities will include everything from frying and steaming to portioning. There are multiple openings for both casual and temporary roles available.

Key Responsibilities:• Prepare and roast, fry, or bake food items • Verify meal accuracy for patients and guests • Provide direction to designated kitchen staff • Serve and portion meals as per dietary needs • Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and utensils

Requirements:• Completion of a recognized cooking program • Food Safe Level 1 certification • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written • Ability to manage physical demands of the role • Organizational and equipment operation skills
